Yes,
claimed the mighty organ of the Tory right, no-one in London will spend more
than one night on the street. So Boris where are you going to put over 2,000
rough sleepers and that is the ones they have counted! What about the ones
hidden away. Down the Chute? This still applies today homeless people
hiding from the main stream of society and any support they may need.
Since
Boris Johnson has been in office and remember this is the Mayor who gave his
pledge to have zero rough sleepers by 2012 there has been a dramatic increase
in rough sleepers. In 2012/13 the rough sleeper count rose by 14% to 6,473 of
which 4,353 were first time rough sleepers. Yet just before Boris, Hostes
Hostium Publicus, (the enemy of the people), came to his throne the tally of
rough sleepers was only, I
use the word only for emphasis, 3,107 so incredibly for all Boris’s spouting
and pontificating he has done nothing in fact under Boris the Bad there has
been over a 100% increase in rough sleepers. The True Picture
If I was still sleeping rough I would
organise rough sleepers to attend an open public meeting at City Hall stand up
and ask Boris the Bad where is he going to put us all tonight as we have spent
more than one night sleeping on the street. I would ask for Boris the Blusterer
to keep to his election promise of only one night on the street for the homeless.
This is not the only problem facing people
who are homeless, either sleeping rough, in a hostel/B & B or in temporary
supported accommodation The
Guardian. All this whilst our revered Mayor and hotly tipped to become a
future leader of the Tory Party is reducing the amount of social housing in
Central London. (See Royal Mail Sell Off; Unheard Holler), Social
Housing
Remember Boris Johnson; Hostes Hostium Publicus
McTaggart
It would be great to get the media involved and have as many rough sleepers as possible sleep outside city hall for a night in protest. I think that catch people's attention.
